By @ihate_chris

Are you a Los Angeles native?

Yes born and raised.

Explain the name C-SAN?

Nick name given to members of my family..my last name is Sanford and by the time i got to high school my older cousins were known by similar names like (Mike San) etc so its just my real name abbreviated.

What music influenced you growing up?

Growing up it was basically ALL WESTCOAST Music like xzibit, dre, etc but i also listened to Biggie growing up. Didn't get into other genres or to many other artist until high school.

Besides music, what else are you passionate about?

Family, sports, knowledge, and that's about it. Learning more and more is something i strive to do everyday.

Although the Los Angeles music community seems big, its quite small in reality.

WAY SMALLER THAN YOU THINK. 75% of the "Scene" has personal relationships with each other. More than just music.

What is your involvement with local talent such as Overdoz & Casey Veggies?

I have worked with pretty much all local talent. Dom, Casey, Skeme, Kendrick, Overdoz, H.O.P.E, Iman Omari, Bad Lucc, there is not really more i can work with lol. But as far as overdoz and Casey those are very personal relationships. Overdoz I have been friends with some members since pre school and I have been with them every step of the way. Casey is like my little brother. We connected through music but the relationship is way deeper. When you are close with someones family it goes deeper than just music.

What music is being played in heavy rotation on your iPod at the moment?

Ab Soul, a lot of 70's funk and soul, J Cole, Wale, and Jay-z right now.

Who is someone alive or dead that you really want to collaborate with?

Ab Soul, Joe Budden, and that's really it. J Cole maybe. I don't have the desire to work with many people. I can be a fan and not want to work with them. That's not saying I'm not down to but i really don't desire to work with people that I'm not already working with.

Last week at Coachella during Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's set, they infamous Tupac hologram made another special appearance. What are your thoughts on bringing back fallen artists and in a sense "exploiting" them?

I saw it live on the YouTube stream and i was tripping out. In shock for at least 5 minutes before i could form an opinion. I don't know how to feel about that shit. It was creepy to me honestly.

As an artist being independent is becoming the trend.
What do you think about being independent vs. signing to a major label?

Depends on the vision you have for your career or what your career needs. People need to really understand what they do music for and what they want out of it. Some belong independent some belong signing with a major. each situation is different no two routes are the same in this business.

What project are you currently working on now?

I just put out dreams & Reality and will continue to push that, but I'm always working and progressing.

What is the motto you live by everyday?

Make every day count and APPRECIATE LIFE!

Thanks for your time Chris. See you at the top!
