ASAP Rocky - Long.Live.ASAP [REVIEW]

All I have to say is whoever leaked the album is either a complete hater or a genius. ASAP Rocky's debut studio album Long.LiveASAP is officially supposed to release on January 15, 2013 so this is almost a month in advance. Rocky already has massive support from his fans and his fanbase is only growing. People are going to hear it and feel bad for spoiling such a real piece of work for his first efforts. Although I have a theory this version won't be final. The anticipated record featuring Lana Del Rey is missing as well as a supposed Pretty Flacko Remix featuring Gucci Mane, Waka Flaka and Pharrell. Either way the album Long Live ASAP is a good feel to start the new year. Like Game's Jesus Piece, I feel all the features included on the album worked perfectly with each record. Schoolboy Q adopts the ASAP lifestyle for his verse on the T-Minus produced PMW (All I Really Need). Honestly I don't want to spoil the suprises for those who would rather wait, so i will give you an extra quick review that will pretty much sum up my theory of being one of the hottest albums next year. Overdoz donates the DEST for PAIN, Santigold shows up in Hell, a Clams Casino production, Kendrick Lamar is not only featured on Fuckin Problems, but also the ultimate cypher called 1Train produced by Hit-Boy. Drake is actually credited by what seems to be his producer name C. Papi (Instagram: Champagnepapi)
My personal favorite at this time is Ghetto Symphony featuring young Gunplay, and ASAP FERGG as portrayed by Big Boi. Speaking of Big Boi, regardless of the month advance of the album, A$AP Rocky will manage to sell at least 250,000 first week. He about to do Drake numbers. Well, close to Drake numbers. The rest of the album is held strong by ASAP Rocky himself. He manages to hold attention from start to finish, which surprised me. Production is a fresh surprise, like the ultimate feature by dirty electro dj/producer Skrillex on Wild For The Night(Wait until that record hits the clubs...) crew member ASAP TY BEATS shows love on Suddenly. Lord Flacko aka Rocky co-produces several tracks himself. Danger Mouse shows you that an emo orchestra of sounds can be beautiful. Good music should be supported especially when a lot of hard work went into a project like Long.Live.ASAP.

A$AP Rocky - Long Live A$AP Tracklist + Production

Young A$AP Rocky is getting ready to release his debut studio album Long Live A$AP. The album isn't expected to release until January 15, 2013, but world is already getting hyped for the premiere. Production will be filled with superstardom, right away with Noah "40" Shebib's production of Fuckin Problems. That record is co produced by someone named C. Papi and coincidentally Drakes Instagram alias is Champagne Papi. Besides some smoke and mirrors, expect to see Danger Mouse, Clams Casino, Hit-Boy, even Skrillex, but no AraabMuzik. A$AP and Araab will in fact be releasing a full length album A$APMUZIK later next year. Features sound amazing including a song with DEST crew OverdoZ called PAIN. Expect nothing less than classic.

Next In Show Presents An Exclusive Interview with Axl Folie of THC

THC is known to most of the world as the principal psychoactive constituent of the cannabis plant. To those of us in the music world, the name THC represents the newest and hottest upcoming producers from the west coast. I would consider Axl Folie the leader of the pack, then Rick Bricks and finally newest member Iman Omari. I was fortunate enough to Interview Axl Folie by himself in the studio recently, where we got to talk about the new Dom Kennedy project, The Yellow Album, which he was a big part of. We also discuss the first time meeting Kendrick Lamar and his electro crew Future 3All of this will be explained in the full Interview below.

Next In Show Presents An Interview With C-SAN
By @ihate_chris

Are you a Los Angeles native?

Yes born and raised.

Explain the name C-SAN?

Nick name given to members of my family..my last name is Sanford and by the time i got to high school my older cousins were known by similar names like (Mike San) etc so its just my real name abbreviated.

What music influenced you growing up?

Growing up it was basically ALL WESTCOAST Music like xzibit, dre, etc but i also listened to Biggie growing up. Didn't get into other genres or to many other artist until high school.

Besides music, what else are you passionate about?

Family, sports, knowledge, and that's about it. Learning more and more is something i strive to do everyday.

Although the Los Angeles music community seems big, its quite small in reality.

WAY SMALLER THAN YOU THINK. 75% of the "Scene" has personal relationships with each other. More than just music.

What is your involvement with local talent such as Overdoz & Casey Veggies?

I have worked with pretty much all local talent. Dom, Casey, Skeme, Kendrick, Overdoz, H.O.P.E, Iman Omari, Bad Lucc, there is not really more i can work with lol. But as far as overdoz and Casey those are very personal relationships. Overdoz I have been friends with some members since pre school and I have been with them every step of the way. Casey is like my little brother. We connected through music but the relationship is way deeper. When you are close with someones family it goes deeper than just music.

What music is being played in heavy rotation on your iPod at the moment?

Ab Soul, a lot of 70's funk and soul, J Cole, Wale, and Jay-z right now.

Who is someone alive or dead that you really want to collaborate with?

Ab Soul, Joe Budden, and that's really it. J Cole maybe. I don't have the desire to work with many people. I can be a fan and not want to work with them. That's not saying I'm not down to but i really don't desire to work with people that I'm not already working with.

Last week at Coachella during Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's set, they infamous Tupac hologram made another special appearance. What are your thoughts on bringing back fallen artists and in a sense "exploiting" them?

I saw it live on the YouTube stream and i was tripping out. In shock for at least 5 minutes before i could form an opinion. I don't know how to feel about that shit. It was creepy to me honestly.

As an artist being independent is becoming the trend.
What do you think about being independent vs. signing to a major label?

Depends on the vision you have for your career or what your career needs. People need to really understand what they do music for and what they want out of it. Some belong independent some belong signing with a major. each situation is different no two routes are the same in this business.

What project are you currently working on now?

I just put out dreams & Reality and will continue to push that, but I'm always working and progressing.

What is the motto you live by everyday?

Make every day count and APPRECIATE LIFE!

Thanks for your time Chris. See you at the top!

Mac Miller 'Macadelic' Features Iman Omari! DEST

Let me get one thing clear, I respect what Mac Miller does, but I'm not a fan at all. So with that being said, the only reason I am posting on this guy is because he dropped a new mixtape today called Macadelic. Good production, but the catch is friend and Next In Show Featured Artist Iman Omari is featured on two tracks and produced one of them. One song called Sunlight produced by Teddy Roxpin which sounds like it was co produced by Iman, is a mellow california stoners trip. The stand out track on the whole mixtape is Fight The Feeling featuring Iman Omari & Kendrick Lamar. Let's just say Iman kills the hook, metaphorically. This is a huge step for Iman in my opinion. The exposure is sure to finally get him respect on a professional level. Congratulations. Next In Show rides for you and the DESTO's.

Buddy - Awesome, Awesome [Video]

I attended the Overdoz concert a couple nights ago at The Roxy Theatre in Hollywood CA. The opening act happened to be a rapper by the name of Buddy. Earlier this week Pharrell Williams tweeted how you can't miss your chance to see Buddy. He began to perform and I could instantly see what Pharrell was talking about. He was an instant crowd pleaser. Now signed to Pharrell's new label iAmOther, stay tuned for a super official album from the youngin. #dest

Overdoz & Friends: Rise of The DEST 2 Coming 1.31.12

Overdoz's first show at The Roxy in Los Angeles a few month's ago was a success to say the least. On Tuesday January 31, 2012 the DESTED collective will hit the stage once again with Rise of The Dest 2 and this time expect the unexpected. Special guests include one of my favorite artists, Iman Omari, young up and comer Buddy, Chill Black Guys and more. Guests could include Nipsey Hussle, who is supposed to announce himself signing to MMG this week. Also Overdoz fan, Pharrell Williams, who has been very supportive of the movement. They were recently in the studio with that pretty motherfucka A$AP Rocky. Maybe even V-Nasty. All speculation aside, these guys are making a name for themselves quick. Don't miss this DESTED show at the famous Roxy Theatre in Hollywood, CA. Next In Show will have a review for you in case you don't live in sunny Southern California.
