Father John Misty | Fear Fun [Mini-Review]

Joshua Tillman is an American folk singer/songwriter who is getting his feet wet with a brand new solo album called Fear Fun. Before this, he may better be known for his work as the drummer of the Fleet Foxes. Tillman left the Foxes this past year to focus on his newfound love for solo work. Signed to SubPop Records as a solo artist, he now goes by Father John Misty. Indie radio began playing his first darkly chipper single Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings. Check out the visual below, which features beautiful actress & comedian Aubrey Plaza.

This song sets the tone for the rest of his new album Fear Fun, as I mentioned before. FJM has a laid back fleet foxes vibe mixed in with his tranquilizing harmonies. The album is a great listen all the way through. Records like I'm Writing A Novel serve as a nice summertime American anthem, while This Is Sally Hatchet and Funtimes In Babylon resume its subtly dark theme. Regardless if your going to buy the album, expand your mind and stream it below while it's still free. via Soundcloud.
